Northern Stage presents:
by Sarah Ruhl
October 4th - 28th w/ various times
Northern Stage | Barrette Center for the Arts | White River Junction VT
A tale of love and longing, Dear Elizabeth follows the beautiful and bittersweet friendship between Elizabeth Bishop and Robert Lowell. Across oceans, continents, and three decades, these esteemed poets found a marriage of true minds in their eloquent correspondence. They traded hundreds of vibrant, witty, and passionate letters that now spring to life on stage. This intimate story paints a portrait of two ordinary – and quite extraordinary – lives.
This production will feature a rotating cast of artists. Susan Haefner (Broadway: State Fair, Thoroughly Modern Millie; Northern Stage: Noises Off, Mamma Mia!, Mary Poppins) and Davis Mason (Northern Stage: Noises Off, Last of the Red Hot Lovers, Trick or Treat) will perform October 4-14. Northern Stage’s own Producing Artistic Director Carol Dunne (Northern Stage: Songs for a New World, Lend Me a Tenor, Cats, Private Lives) and Thom Miller (Northern Stage: The Hound of the Baskervilles, Mad Love, Boeing Boeing) will perform October 17-28.
Advisory: Appropriate for all ages, but ideal for 12 and up.
