On his quest to redefine the jazz guitar, Pat Metheny has embraced new technologies, challenged genre labels with unexpected collaborations, and won an unthinkable 20 Grammy Awards in 12 different categories. Loose, harmonic articulation has been his trademark style since his first release, Bright Size Life, in 1975. At the Flynn, Metheny rhapsodizes with a quartet featuring Antonio Sanchez—composer of the Birdman soundtrack—on drums, rounded off by 2014 Burlington Discover Jazz Festival artist Linda May Han Oh on bass and Gwilym Simcock at the piano.
