The Point presents Natalie Merchant
Tuesday, Oct 21 at 8pm
Flynn Theater - Burlington, VT
After rising to fame at the helm of the popular folk-rock band 10,000 Maniacs, Natalie Merchant enjoyed even greater success as a solo artist during the mid-'90s. Her literate, socially conscious songs established her among the preeminent women in pop music, while her solo debut - 1995's Tigerlily - helped pave the way for a number of female performers in a pre-Lilith Fair market. Natalie has prolifically been recorded on 12 L.P.'s, both as a solo artist and with 10,000 Maniacs, as she continued releasing thematic, concept-oriented albums well into the 2000s. After a 13 year break from the studio, Natalie's latest self titled album is slated for a May 6 release, and her supporting tour is sparking buzz for both longtime followers as well as a new generation of ears.
