SUMMARY:The Peter Karp Band @ Dog Mountain ((Free Show!))
DESCRIPTION:The Levitt AMP St. Johnsbury Music Series \nDog Mountain | St. Johnsbury\, VT \nSunday\, July 14 @ 4:00 pm \n  \nPeter Karp is a renowned blues rock fixture worldwide\, known for his fiery brand of “soul-influenced Americana-blues-rock” and recent collaborations with The Rolling Stones’ guitarist Mick Taylor. Karp’s songwriting prowess seeps out through his poetic\, witty lyrics and his impressive musicianship brings his personal stories and worldly insights to life. Ever the multi-tasker\, Karp bounces between several instruments\, handling electric resonator slide guitar\, acoustic guitar—as well as harmonica and piano. Each song is driven home with his soulful voice and compelling songwriting style. Born in the small town of Leonia\, N.J.\, Karp grew up immersed in the sounds of ‘50s – ‘60s rock and old school blues. He began his musical career in the underground punk band They Came From Houses\, a critically-acclaimed presence in New York City’s Lower East Side scene. \nKarp first saw national attention when guitarist Mick Taylor of The Rolling Stones recorded and toured with Karp on his third indie release The Turning Point (2003). After signing with Blind Pig Records\, Karp released several more albums\, including two with Sue Foley\, that worked their way to the top of the Blues and Billboard Charts. Each project showcases Karp’s heartfelt\, critically-acclaimed songwriting amidst a group of masterful musicians. \nhttps://peterkarp.com/home
