Do you love everything swing? Enjoy a dancing lesson from Vermont Swings before listening to Vermont’s premier 17-piece jazz ensemble, Joe’s Big Band. These two Burlington VT powerhouses team up for a night you cannot miss!

Vermont Swings is a nonprofit group lead by a great team of board members who volunteer their time to further their love of swing and social dancing, and honor the African-American roots of Jazz Music and Lindy Hop.

Joe’s Big Band is a 17-piece jazz ensemble based in the Burlington area that has been performing music ranging from Swing Era classics to contemporary jazz, blues, and funk throughout northern Vermont for over 30 years. The band was founded in the late 1980’s by local jazz musician Joe Levesque. Joe enjoyed giving musicians opportunities to play, as well as sharing the music he loved with many appreciative audiences at concerts, dances, weddings, and Lake Champlain dinner cruises. Since his passing in 2004, Joe’s Big Band has carried on in Joe Levesque’s memory, continuing to evolve into the high-energy force it is today. The band is made up of talented, fun-loving musicians from all over the Champlain Valley who faithfully reproduce the timeless sounds of the masters like Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Woody Herman, Stevie Wonder, Brian Setzer, and many more. They also support vocal renditions out of The Great American Songbook. Joe’s Big Band provides Jazz in a Big Way!
