What was your last non-radio job?
I worked at the family business, but otherwise, I’ve always been in radio! I’ve been pretty lucky.
How do you spend your time outside the station?
I like to listen to tunes, watch music docs, talk to family, hang with friends, swim for exercise and fun, and dancing is a must. That reminds me- I need to get my drawing chops back into shape.
What’s your favorite Vermont band, past or present?
Madaila really brings the house down! I got to go to Madaila on Main in 2017, and that was the most fun block party I’ve been to.
What was your first concert?
The Fratellis at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston. I tried to go to Lady Gaga during her Born This Way tour, but then she canceled for health reasons. Bummer! But the Fratellis gig was when I got the bug for live shows.
Whats the first album you ever bought?
I actually have no idea. I remember the “Tooth Fairy” gave me a Bow Wow CD once- does that count?
What are some of your favorite movies?
I love Romeo + Juliet by Baz Luhrmann and no one can convince me otherwise. It’s pure 90s with swords, parties, and Leonardo DiCaprio- what’s not to like?!
What are some of your favorite TV shows, past or present?
I love the show Stranger Things. I binged Season 2 in a weekend, and if you haven’t seen it, I swear it’s worth the hype!
If you had a goofy DJ name what would it be?
I actually had some in college: DJ Slammin’ Sammye, as well as “Your funky cool DJ, Sam”. I loved it.
What is your favorite YouTube clip?
I actually love the series “Over/Under” where they ask music artists about whether random things are over or underrated. It gives you a great look into their personalities and humor. The best was when Vince Staples said that lobsters were underrated and got really excited about them!
What is your favorite time-wasting website?
BUZZFEED. Hardcore. I can waste so much time there- so much so, my friends have called me the “Buzzfeed Queen”. I’m not sure that’s something to be proud of.
