What was your last non-radio job?
Selling Volvos. I did that for a year; then the dot com bubble burst.
How do you spend your time outside the station?
Swimming in the pond where I live. Or skiing. It kind of depends.
Whats your favorite Vermont band, past or present?
It’s pretty hard to beat Phish. The first time I saw them… at The Warfield in San Francisco… I got to go onstage and get in the tub with their brother. Honest.
What was your first concert?
The Beatles at Candlestick Park in 1966. Their last public concert. I had comp tickets. Honest.
What was the first concert your were thrown out of?
Santana at Winterland in San Francisco. Bill Graham kicked me out personally. I deserved it.
What’s the first album you ever bought?
“Beatle Beat” by The Buggs. I couldn’t aford a real Beatles album.
What are some of your favorite movies?
I love the Flashman series of historical fiction novels; very funny. For Film I am a Film Noir and Stanley Kubrick fan, but I have a sentimental streak too. “Casablanca “and “It’s a Wondeful Life” are big favorites.
What are some of your favorite TV shows, past or present?
“The Singing Detective’. I guess I’m not THAT sentimental.
If you had a goofy DJ name what would it be?
I was once scheduled on two stations in the same town at the same time of day each week; for the Oldies station I was “Jame Gold”. Like Golden Oldies; get it??? It was icky.
Whats your favorite YouTube clip?
The bear eating that woman’s kayak. That’ll teach her to pepper srpay the damn wildlife. I note that she did evidently get out alive. But otherwise that video is perfect.
What’s your favorite time-wasting website?
I gave up Facebook and improved my life by a wide margin. Now I like Instagram; fewer arguments with people from Saint Petersburg.
