Song: Dummy
Artist: Portugal. The Man
Album: Chris Black Changed My Life
Release: June 2023
Portugal. The Man is back! The band has released a delightful, wacky new single “Dummy,” accompanied by an equally bizarre, humorous video. The band says that if you are worried about the impending nuclear war, ‘Dummy’ is an ode to The Cure. It’s for all the hopeless doomers waxing poetic on the end times while dancing to “Boys Don’t Cry.” All my troubles seem so far away. The band’s John Gourley says it feels good to be back. Their new album Chris Black Changed My Life will be out June 23.

Song: Homesick
Artist: Noah Kahan
Album: Sick Season
Release: October 14 2022
In this track from his latest album Stick Season, Vermont’s own Noah Kahan expresses complicated feelings towards his hometown, searching for a reason to leave, but then once he does, he misses his New England; it’s a study in contradiction. He’s bringing his Stick Season Tour to the Xfinity Center on September 9.

Song: Thinking About You
Artist: Beck
Album: Single
Release: 2023
Beck has released his first new music since his 2019 album Hyperspace. He’s co-headling a concert tour with the band Phoenix and Weyes Blood this summer, stopping at the MGM Music Hall at Fenway on September 5. He recently appeared at the Recording Academy’s All-Star Grammys tribute to the Beach Boys, where he sang “Sloop John B” and joined in with My Morning Jacket for “Good Vibrations.” His new track is a minimal guitar and harmonica ballad, a different sound for Beck.
